In my community I know kids who commit teen violence and I wish they would stop before they end up in jail and it could ruin their lives . Violent crimes are committed by teenagers every year. Every year, more and more adolescents succumb to violence, either as perpetrators or victims. It is important for parents or adults who work with young people to understand the factors that contribute to it and how to help them. Teen violence takes many forms and varies in severity. The most infamous and serious form of teen violence are the school shootings seen on the news. But it is more common for teenagers to kill each other in the street every day. Even schoolyard bullying, although less serious, is a form of adolescent violence. There are different types of adolescent violence: physical violence, dating violence, predatory violence, situational violence, and relationship violence. Many teenagers are concerned about youth violence, and for good reason. Every year, far too many teenagers commit acts of violence, and their victims are most often other teenagers. Throughout their adolescence, adolescents will interact with a wide variety of people, situations, and emotions. In many situations, personal conflicts between different people can potentially result in violence and/or injury. Parents should help their teenager learn to manage their emotions without resorting to violence; They should talk to their teen about ways to resolve arguments and fights without weapons or violence. Preventative methods may include learning non-violent methods to control anger or developing more effective problem-solving skills. If there is violence in a family, it increases the risk that the adolescent will be involved in future violence. Schools are more likely to be unsafe if they are high schools located in urban areas, and minority groups in these environments are at greatest risk of being killed at school. Youth are less likely to be involved in teen violence if they have learned nonviolent ways to solve problems, have strong family ties, and have goals and commitment to school. Parents can help reduce the risk of their teens being perpetrators or victims of violence if they talk to their teens every day and show them that they care and want their teens to avoid violence and substance abuse. Parents also need to know who their teens' friends are and where their teens spend their time, and encourage their teens to get involved in positive activities...
