Technology means better access to the global market. Organizations that invest in technology have more efficient employees. According to Higginbottom, technology will provide transparency. Whether we like it or not, employees will take their cues from Yelps and Trip Advisors around the world and rely on tools like Glassdoor and social media to describe and evaluate their company's true employment brand. With today's social consumer technologies, disengaged or disgruntled employees, like customers, can immediately express their dissatisfaction, and potential employees and customers can immediately see what those disengaged employees have to say. But it also works the other way, meaning positive feedback can be shared just as easily. In 2015, HR adopted technology that creates this transparency and fosters an open culture where employees can easily recognize and communicate the great things happening in organizations every day.
