Essay / Global Warming is Real - 2220
There are many different views on whether or not global warming is actually real and the possible catastrophic damage it causes. This is a major problem in politics today, with everyone wondering if it's actually real or just a weather phenomenon. People need to wake up and realize this is real, just look at the shorter winters and warmer weather. Glaciers are melting, crazy weather is happening, so what else could it be? However, we have other concerns as a government. There are all sorts of facts about whether global warming is real or not, but it doesn't take a genius to realize that the planet is warming. “2012 ranked as the eighth warmest year on record, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The ranking was based on global surface temperatures from January to November. The 10 hottest years on record have occurred since 1998. December 2012 was the 34th consecutive month with temperatures above their 1900s average." (Go back in time.) After reading something like this, how not to say that global warming is real, the facts are obviously there. People say that the warming is not due to past weather conditions, but in the last 15 years the 10 hottest years have been recorded and yes, maybe it's just a weather situation, but in the trend, temperatures are getting warmer. temperatures on this planet have always fluctuated naturally on this planet. Over the past 100 years, the Earth warmed from about 1900 to 1940. There was then a global cooling until the end of the 1970s." (Scherer 20) People who say this don't understand that there are weather patterns, but the pattern that is happening now... in the middle paper... ironically, global warming is real. People who say it's not real need to realize that yes there are weather patterns, but when the patterns reach the warm parts of the pattern they will be hotter than they have ever been before. Yes, there will be periods of cold weather, but it will never be as cold or as long as before. So people need to understand, whether they like it or not, that global warming is real.
