    Come Dine with me is a reality TV show where four contestants compete to host the best dinner party. They each host a dinner party over the course of a week and rate each other out of ten based on food, atmosphere and overall experience. The host with the most points at the end of the week wins one thousand pounds. Moreover, the show was first broadcast in 2005 and since then it has only gained popularity and become a familiar TV show on Channel 4. Every contestant on the show wants to create a good impression of himself among other candidates as well as viewers. at home. Additionally, the show is heavily edited; What many viewers are unaware of, however, is that this humor makes the show more interesting. It's a surprisingly entertaining format, with Dave Lamb's voiceover hitting just the right tone, taking the 'Mickey' from everyone involved while adding various sarcastic comments throughout. As the first dinner approaches, everyone in attendance is quite shy and nervous, and they converse the only way they know how to interact with new people: politely. As they all arrive at the first dinner hosted by Ben, they are all greeted very politely. Ben and Jessica start the conversation with "Hi" which is soon followed by "nice to meet you." They are both trying to create good first impressions of themselves, because after all this TV show is broadcast all over the UK and all viewers would also like to create good impressions of themselves with the viewers at home. Plus, as it's Ben's dinner, any rudeness or bad impressions can cost him points which can influence his chances of winning the thousand pounds.
