One type of police database is fingerprint databases which allow forensic teams to analyze fingerprints found at a crime scene against system fingerprints. Another type of police database is a criminal database that lists people arrested and convicted of various crimes. These databases make it easier to track crimes and identify potential suspects. Crime reporting has been improved with technology through databases and software. This technology makes report writing efficient and less time-consuming. Consequently, police databases and crime reporting have been enhanced through technology and have improved the ability of law enforcement agencies to operate.
