    Child labor is inhumane and many children around the world are forced to work long hours without pay and in dangerous conditions. Child labor exists due to high unemployment rates and in countries with civil war. Many children work in places such as factories, sweatshops, mines, fields, hotels, or in households as domestic servants. Forced child labor should be illegal because it goes against human rights and takes away the innocence of children who will grow up with little or no childhood. Forced child labor is present in many places around the world and is mainly centralized in Asia. This is more common in societies where people are uneducated or live in a lower class society that tends to force children to work. Despite the existence of laws prohibiting the practice of forced child labor, the number of child victims is increasing everywhere. More must be done to enforce laws aimed at protecting children from this cruel life. First, forcing children to work sets off a vicious cycle that will affect future generations. “According to UNICEF, there are an estimated 158 million children aged 5 to 14 working worldwide.” Because children are forced to work, they will not be able to receive an education and this will prevent them from finding employment in the future. This will only increase poverty and encourage them to force their own children to work. It's a never-ending cycle. Unfortunately, because families live in poverty, some have no choice but to force their children to work. People living in extreme poverty often rely on child labor to earn extra income to meet their basic living needs. Children are not equipped to work like adults and this inhumane practice should be eliminated.
