As times have changed, so have social problems. The problems occurring among young people are alarming. The main problem, such as gangsterism, affects the development of the country. This is an increasingly serious problem worldwide, particularly among adolescents. For example, a young rabbinical student was stabbed to death during the riots in Crown Heights, New York, in 1991, after the jury acquitted his attacker of state murder charges (Satris, 2002). The strongest early risk factors for violence between ages 15 and 18 are involvement in general crimes and substance use before age 12 (Office of the Surgeon General et al, 2001). The situation becomes more serious when the number of female students and primary school students participating in gangsterism is increasing. What is gangsterism? According to the 2009 Collins English Dictionary, gangsterism is the culture of belonging to organized criminal gangs. The aim of this study is therefore to study the factors of gangsterism among adolescents. There are several reasons why adolescents become involved in gangsterism, such as peer pressure, family problems, and financial problems. First, some studies have shown that peer pressure puts a child at risk for later involvement in gangsterism (Fitch, 2009). ). As adolescents, they are very sensitive during this period. They are also easily influenced by their friends. A study on gangsterism in a secondary school in Malaysia showed that friends had a greater influence on students than family (Yahaya, Boon & Buang, 2008). Adolescents with weak social ties are those who participate little in social activities and have low popularity among their conventional peers (Office of the Surgeon General and et al, 2001). Over time, the rate of gangsterism increases. A survey of 20,000 high school students by the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta found that one in five young people reported carrying a weapon to class (Bryjak and Soroka, 1994). If we don't avoid it properly, maybe it will become a war in one day. The whole world will become full of violence. People can live in fear. They will not feel safe and at peace. Relations between them will become worse. Adolescents are pillars of the nation. If we don't curb it, the entire lives of teenagers will be destroyed by their hands. The nation's economy will decline at a rapid rate. People will live in poverty. Gangsterism must therefore be prevented and avoided. As a resident we must take steps to prevent this problem.
