Suddenly, an intelligent personal assistant like Siri asks: “Hello, sir, where are you going?” » “Go to my office,” says the lead actor. Nowadays, as automotive technologies develop faster and faster, this scenario involving self-driving cars may not be as far away as we think. On June 29, 2011, Nevada was the first state in the United States to pass a law allowing the operation of a self-driving car in Nevada, and the first permit for a self-driving car was issued by the Department of Motorcycle Vehicles of the Nevada in May 2012. When it comes to self-driving cars, most of us believe that self-driving cars will bring us huge benefits. However, the question arises whether it is a good idea to promote self-driving cars in our daily lives. While some argue that promoting self-driving cars could lead to problems such as losing millions of dollars ... middle of paper ... some automakers may profit, consumers may face risks when it comes to private life. It is not good to promote self-driving cars until the DMV carefully studies this and sets the right rules. For now, it is not a good idea to promote self-driving cars. The technology is amazing and consumers think it's cool, but they're not ready for cars that drive themselves. Obviously, self-driving cars bring us benefits such as saving time, lives and fuel, but they also bring many problems. First, self-driving cars are neither affordable nor necessary for most people. Drivers can drive as carefully as possible to avoid accidents. Second, liability for car accidents is unclear. Third, privacy law is far from perfect. Over time, technology will mature and legal regulations will improve. The scenario of autonomous cars will come true in the future.
