Abanoob AttiaArt Education 1600, Spring 2014Dr. BurkhartFeb. 21, 2014 “The Power of Imagination” Imagination gives people the chance to live in a dream world, full of images and events, even if it will never come true. Imagining allows us to experience and see the world from different angles and points of view, exploring the future or the past in the mind. In John Lennon's beautiful song "Imagine", Lennon asks people to imagine a world without divisions between them, whether it be religion, country or possession. The smooth start of the song's instruments gives listeners the psychological feeling sense of peace and peace of mind, which allows the listener to focus more on the lyrics and the singer's direct message becomes clear and vivid. The constant, gentle beating of drums, almost like heartbeats, and the lively sound of guitar rhythms make up the bulk of the background music. This gives the listener a calming state of mind to think about the world and use their imagination to engage with the song. Lennon begins his lyrics with "Imagine there is no heaven, it's easy if you try, no hell below us, only above us." heaven, imagine all people living for today" (Rasty Adem 2011), he states that we should not worry about tomorrow or the future and focus on the present, because what we do now affects what will happen in the future and if we If we focus too much on the future, we will miss the events happening in the present. Lennon asks the audience to imagine a world without different countries or religions in his second verse "Imagine there are no countries, it's not hard to do, nothing to kill." or die, and no religion either, imagine that all people live in peace” (Rasty Adem 2011). I persona... middle of paper ...... feeling depressed, or just having a bad day. This is the kind of song I listened to when I walked around the park, admiring and observing how others behaved around each other. And how peaceful our world can be if we really want to change ourselves and our self-centered ideas. John Lennon did a fantastic job of bringing his message together in a few meaningful and powerful words, the repeated use of the word "Imagine" is very powerful to the human mind as a direct command to begin interpreting the next part into images and in events. The soft, low tone of Lennon's voice, combined with the great selection of instruments, fit the lyrics perfectly, making it the type of song that you repeatedly forget about and only notice hours later. late. I generally agree with all of his opinions on how we can change the world to make it more peaceful and loving..
