    This was not an unknown event; there was documented evidence that this was going to happen. So, regarding Sontag's view on the inevitability of tragedy, this circumstance was not inevitable, but simply a neglect shown by the Western world on how "primitive" countries live. This shows the self-interest shown by the Western world, which cannot help a country that is in a deplorable state and has fallen into terrible circumstances. The tragedy is a horrible circumstance for all those affected, but many have been able to get help in the refugee camps set up by humanitarian agencies and their colleagues.
