    In a culture filled with fairy tales, one might expect a monarchy's biggest problems to revolve around true love's first kiss or the defeat of dragons. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have provided the world with a heavy dose of royal romance, but most modern monarchs spend their days at the office fighting conceptual dragons. These dragons come in all shapes and sizes across the world, as each country has its own current struggles. However, some problems undoubtedly come from the monarchs themselves. Contemporary tensions in Liechtenstein and Morocco, in particular, reflect the priorities of their respective monarchs. Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI founded the modern country of Liechtenstein in 1719 when he declared it as a separate institution from his own empire. The ruling family lived abroad until the 20th century, when Prince Franz Joseph II took up permanent residence at Vaduz Castle (Forty). Currently, the Principality of Liechtenstein is best known for its financial resources. Early in its history, Liechtenstein experienced serious financial difficulties. The army was disbanded in 1868 due to lack of funding (Naylor) and was never reestablished. The country maintained its neutrality in both world wars, but the ills of battered Europe spread across borders and the nation suffered major financial blows (Naylor). Prince Hans-Adam II, a modern ruler, changed the game by applying his studies in commerce, economics and law. Hans-Adam said in 2013: "My father [Franz Josef II] had been financing the monarchy by selling art and land since World War II...The family bank was in disrepair, and the family business...was also in bad shape, so I started getting involved in the reorganization of the bank” (Shotter).
