Essay / Fall Out Boy Performance Impressions
Boys of Zummer Concert From the moment I went to my first concert, I was in love with being near someone I had admired for many years, standing directly in front of me and surrounded by individuals with whom I connected on an emotional level. The excitement, anticipation and hype of hearing my favorite band in concert is truly a blessing. Everything about concerts amazes me because of the fearless members performing in front of thousands of people of all ages interested in their music. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on “Why Violent Video Games Should Not Be Banned”? Get an original essay In the summer of 2015, I had the great pleasure of attending a Fall Out Boy concert. Fall Out Boy is a pop-punk band from Chicago, Illinois. They have been on the music scene for over a decade, since 2001 to be more precise, and they have had the same four members throughout these years. Fall Out Boy has become one of the most successful pop-punk bands of the current generation, but they wouldn't be where they are today without the members who have stayed together throughout the years. First up, Pete Wentz, a phenomenal bass player. originally from Wilmette, Illinois, and the eldest of the group. He got his “big break” in almost every way possible at the age of 37. Own a music label, run tattoo competitions, own your own clothing line, run a film production company as well as a bar, and be a wealthy man. known philanthropist. He really did everything, which amazes me. Second, shy, soft-spoken and heavily tattooed drummer Andy Hurly hails from the town of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Growing up in a small family that was not supportive of his lifestyle choice led him to become suicidal. You wouldn't be able to tell he's very shy from the way he crushes his drums and directs the rhythm of each song. Next we have lead guitarist and backing vocalist, Joe Trohman. The youngest member, originally from South Russell, Ohio, is known for his curly, wicked hair that bounces when he lets loose on stage. He met bassist Pete Wentz in high school, where they mutually decided to start a rock band that would become a side project, but little did they know that Fall Out Boy would be one of the biggest bands of that time. generation ! Ultimately, Patrick Stump and the incredible singer from Evanston, Illinois, is the heart and soul of the group. He leads the band with his angelic, raspy voice and rhythm guitar playing that brings the music to life. He is often judged because his appearance does not fit the typical image of a rock or punk band's lifestyle. He is short, shy, always wears a fedora and has no tattoos. Fall Out Boy is the type of band that creates songs with deep and meaningful lyrics to fit their listening audience. If they continue to have major success in this industry they must be doing something right because otherwise they would be on the "One Hit Wonders" list with their debut single "Thanks for The Memories" "Thnks fr th mmrs" from back in the super year 2007. They were together many years before this song was released, but to this day this song is the soul of their career. I impatiently crossed the huge metal walkway. I immediately noticed that the atmosphere was full of smoke. It felt like the entire waterfront arena was full of fog with beer mist being thrown everywhere. I pushed my shaking body through the crowd of thousands of fans waiting to buy expensive merchandise and concessions butdelicious. As I walked up the hard, gray concrete steps leading to the large open pit, I could vaguely see everyone gathered around waiting for the concert to begin. I rushed over, getting a good seat right in front of the stage. The stage was about a foot away; he wasn't much taller than me. I was near the large black speakers hanging on the left side of the stage. I could not only smell but literally taste the weed in the air. It reminded me of skunk spray. It was revolting! The taste was vulgar and fascinating as one would expect; it made my taste buds want to pop out of my mouth, screaming for water. It was 7 p.m. sharp and the music started blaring through the speakers, ricocheting off his surroundings, making the music much louder. At first, a DJ arrived. No one paid attention to him because he wasn't as good of a DJ as people thought he was. The second performance was MAX, a singer-songwriter from Manhattan, who got his start on Nickelodeon and was performing musical covers on YouTube. He is a white man of average height with an athletic, toned body, shaggy black/brown hair, and brown eyes. He is also a phenomenal dancer; In which I'm pretty sure he loves doing the splits because he was doing them every five seconds it seems, and he gets straight angry because his feet match, and he sometimes looks to have a seizure on stage. I didn't know much about his original music, which ended up making it a bit bland, but to say the least, he gave a good performance. The third performance was Hoodie Allen, an indie rapper from Long Island. Unlike MAX, I knew almost all of Hoodie's music. Hoodie is a white man of average height with an athletic body with short dark brown hair and brown eyes. He is energetic, loud and genuine. He really knew how to get the party started. Hoodie's vocals could be described as guttural in the way he follows the music but still manages to incorporate the audience into the lyrics. He tends to adapt his voice to his movements. When he's on stage, he's in his own little world, which sometimes includes not giving a damn about the language. In the middle of his performance, the beat of "All About Us" began playing with a guest vocalist, Ed Sheeran, a British singer-songwriter who has gained great fame in recent years. I didn't expect to see Ed randomly pop up on the screen in the background when it was his solo, not to mention it was completely live, which made it all the more real and upsetting . As if Ed's appearance wasn't enough, previous performer MAX jumped over the drummer, landing at half-time before hitting a high note to begin a collaboration song between MAX and Hoodie Allen . Overall, the way he plays is commendable and displays a spark of electricity. His latest song, “No Faith in Brooklyn,” is one of my favorites. It's upbeat with amazing lyrics for a rap song. Instead of saying “Brooklyn,” he changed it to “Bangor” to match the city he was in. After that performance, I didn't know how Fall Out Boy could have topped him. A large box of screens slowly fell from the ground. from the top of the stage to the floor, thus completely covering the stage. The screens played a video containing a black and white video clip of a girl screaming as a guy ran after her, with pop-ups of the group members in red. It reminded me of a horror movie trailer. The video accompanied their recent album at the time,American Beauty/American Psycho. The lights dimmed then suddenly a row of bright lights shone directly onto the crowd, distracting us from the fact that Fall Out Boy was silently approaching the stage. As quickly as the lights came on us, they were gone and everything was pitch black again. The beat started playing their old hit "Sugar, We're Coming Down", then blue streaks of light appeared, showing the band playing, followed by a smoke machine. Patrick, the lead singer, only spoke the first two words of the song before the crowd overpowered his vocals in singing along. The most surprising thing about this song is that Patrick's voice vibrates with the background music. The waterfront went dark, then, to the beat of the drum, the lights came back on, showing a bustling mountain in the background. Patrick was rocking back and forth like he was on caffeine. After the end of the second song, Pete, the bass player, said a few words about life being so easy but it was important to never give up. The third song came with a fiery bang! It grew dark, then instantly, the fire lit up the stage to the beat of Andy's drums. Toward the end of the song, Patrick sang the lead part of "The Phoenix" while Joe and Pete shouted into their microphones, "We're the ones who are lost!" " repeatedly, until the end of the song's bridge. Fire followed Patrick's vibrato as he hit that ridiculously high note. The fourth was a song "Way Back" from one of their early albums, "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More 'Touch Me,'" which is a depressing love. story, which culminated in Pete's next speech about suicide. “This next song is for everyone who said they couldn't make it but they are here tonight, not just here with us at the concert but here all over the world to survive, even when it's hard. " Thriller is such a phenomenal song with deep lyrical meaning behind it. It's a bit slower than their other songs, but it's still upbeat enough that you can bang your head while still completely understanding the meaning of the song. All of their songs have a truly deep and healing lyrical connection with fans because they write about the life experiences they have experienced or watched, whether they are friends, family members, or fans who have bravely lived them. This led to the next song, "Alone Together", which is about being depressed because he doesn't fit in and the screen behind the band made that clear. It shows a group of fans with crazy hairstyles and different clothing styles than you would see on the street. Fall Out Boy is a pop-punk/pop-rock band with a certain type of fan base that is referred to as having a "weird fashion sense because they feel unique, it's a bit stereotypical, but I think it defines that kind of Fall Out Boy music.” focuses on. After the end of their rockier sound about the battle for record labels, "It's Not a Stage, It's an Arms Race", another black and white video following the same path as the first was released by the group donning the same mask as what appears on their album cover. A white plastic mask, half white representing “American Psycho”, half the American flag representing “American Beauty”. The video was a distraction for three quarters of the band who set up a small stage in the middle of the crowd to perform a beautiful acoustic version of the hit song "Immortals" from the animated film Big Hero 6, complete with an acoustic set . from “Young Volcanos”, a ballad about the unpredictable young generation, tackling the..
