  • Essay / A Review of Global Warming - 1000

What exactly is global warming and what are its effects on our planet? How can we know that the effects will not cause harm to the land and everyone who lives on it? Many questions are asked and countless lies are told to answer these demands. Because there are many different opinions on this topic, they often completely contradict each other. Some people think humans are the cause, while others think it's just another result of trapped CO2 and methane. The greenhouse effect, changes since global warming and poorly presented statistics are all contradictions involved in global warming. What is the greenhouse effect? This is warming near the Earth's surface that occurs when the Earth's atmosphere traps heat from the sun. Infrared radiation is returned to the atmosphere as thermal energy. Too much infrared radiation causes overheating but not enough to warm the earth more than 1.5 to 2*F. Without the greenhouse effect, the earth would be too cold so it is necessary. Forests absorb gas but they are destroyed. Greenhouse gases are CO2 and CH4 (methane) and H2O (water). CO2 and CH4 are transparent when they arrive on earth but when they try to leave, the ozone layer traps them and they reflect the sun's rays which heat the earth too much (World Book 383). Warming during summer, which has the greatest impact on the stability of ice shelves, has been linked to the ozone hole and increased greenhouse gases” (British Antarctic Survey 1). It's easy to see changes in polar ice and melting, but when people try to predict what will happen to Earth's climate in the future, the facts get lost. The way it works is simply...... middle of paper......; it's a fact. It is something that is simply part of the Earth's cycles. The Earth is warming and cooling all the time, but technology is not advanced enough to see recent changes. Scientists take the data they discover and extend it to the supposed age of the Earth and say this is accurate even though in reality they are basing their calculations on only about 100 years of data. The world will not reach a temperature so high that people will die from global warming. In I Thessalonians 5:21a it says, “But examine everything carefully…” Look at all the facts and decipher which ones are legitimate. Additionally, knowledge of hot topics in today's world will help people understand the different angles of these issues. While it's impossible to completely prevent the process, slowing its effects could help the planet stay beautiful for longer..
