The Northern Renaissance began after 1500, when Northern European scholars and merchants supported Renaissance ideas. Northern Renaissance writers also supported and embraced the idea of humanism, but gave humanism a more religious view (Adams 14). One of the famous Nordic writers is William Shakespeare. Many people say he is the best playwright of all time. Shakespeare's life can be divided into his early years, his marriage, his playing years, and his later years. First of all, Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564. No one knows the exact date of Shakespeare's birth, but the 23rd has been named as his birth date. date (Frye 7). His baptismal records read "Guliemus filius Johannes Shakspere" meaning "William, son of John Shakespeare (Shakspere). He was the third of eight children.
