Edgar Allan PoeEdgar Allan Poe was born on January 19, 1809. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts. His father abandoned the family and his mother died the year after leaving his practical man when it came to his explorations of the written word. He was an orphan with a troubled childhood who became America's first great lyric poet, the inventor of the modern detective. history, pioneer of science fiction and master of the macabre. In forty years, Poe became the first American writer of international influence. He wrote romantic poems about love and death such as “The Raven”. He also wrote tales of terror like “The Black Cat” and “The Cask of Amontillado.” With his stories “Murders in the Rue Morgue,” “The Mystery of Marie Roget” and “The Purloined Letter,” Poe became the father of modern detective fiction, but that’s not all. He also wrote science fiction. “A Descent into the Maelstrom” and “The Facts in the Case of Mr. Valdemar” are just two of Poe's stories that expanded the style and creativity of the science fiction genre. In addition to writing prose and poetry, Poe was a literary critic who found himself in much trouble with his literary colleagues due to his scathing critiques of their work. Poe was not afraid to ridicule the works of other writers. Poe was a great and famous writer.Summary of The Black CatThe man in this story loves animals and owns many of them. Taking care of his pets and spending time with them is his favorite thing to do. He marries a woman. His wife also loves animals and fills the house with them. One of them is an all-black cat named Pluto. When a man starts drinking, his personality deteriorates. He begins to mistreat his wife and pets. One night, the narrator......in the middle of a paper...he removed the veil around her. The Blackout changed Mr. Hooper's life. Years passed and Mr. Hooper still wore the same black veil. Elizabeth had stayed with him over the years and was there for him at his dying bedside. The minister who prayed for him asked Mr. Hooper to remove the black veil, to see his face hidden since his childhood. He didn't want him to see his face so much that he spent his last breaths fighting with the other minister to keep the veil. His stories tell about his life because of his childhood. He had a very difficult childhood. He turned to different foster families because his father left and his mother died a year later. That's why most of his stories are about love or death. As in The Black Cat and The Black Veil of Ministers. this is how Edgar Allan Poe's life came into play in his stories.
