Life in the Philippines is hard, traumatic and severe but not impossible. The Philippines is illustrated as a country caught between being contemporary and maintaining a local tradition. Naturally, the Philippines has a very rich culture. Despite this, since the 19th century when the Western invasion reached its peak, the Philippines was concerned about the nation's lack of culture.
