    Being a photographer requires a large amount of creativity and knowledge of the career. Whether your specialty is nature, weddings, portraits or family, knowing everything you can about photography is a necessity. The world of photography is constantly evolving, constantly finding new filters and new ways to create a new photography app. Now anyone can whip out their phone and take a decent photo. This makes it a little more difficult for a photographer to break out of the frozen confines of the modern world and be able to show people his talent. At ISU, Idaho State University, photography is part of mass communications. Mass Comm requires a total of 16 credits. Three credits for Introduction to Mass Media, four for Reporting and Newspaper Writing, three for Graphic Design, three for Introduction to Photography and Laboratory, and three for Mass Communication and Society. These credits will be linked to all credits received in general courses and other elective courses. To graduate, a total of 120 credits are required. However, going to college to study photography is not required for a photographer to start a career.
