It has been stated that “once you have clearly defined your research topic, you will be able to choose the research strategy and techniques for collection and most appropriate data analysis” (Sanders et al, 2009). : 20-21). This applies to the proposed research because it is “the logical sequence that connects empirical data to a study's initial research questions and, ultimately, to its conclusions” (Yin, 2009). A comprehensive research design includes strategies, choices, and takes into account time horizons. A lot of time and effort must be spent when creating a research plan, as it has been described as the glue that holds the components of the research project together. For this reason, it is essential that a detailed methodology is meticulously prepared in order to produce solid research. It is important to note that there are various ways of conducting research to answer the proposed questions, however each of the three questions will be approached with an approach in order to provide a general understanding of the different methods to adopt. Research Question 1PhilosophyThe philosophy adopted for the first research question is pragmatism. The researcher carefully chose to adopt the pragmatist philosophy because he argues that the most important factor in the adopted research philosophy is indeed the research question. The chosen approach focuses on the research problem and uses all available approaches to understand the problem (Rossman and Wilson, 1985). Pragmatists agree that research takes place in social, historical, political, and other contexts.
