  • Essay / Summary of Fear of Breathing by Lafferty, Sherlock...

Every new morning. New widows scream, new orphans cry, new sorrows slap the sky in the face (quoted in Lawson, Sandra. 2013) In the eighty-five pages, Lafferty, Sherlock and Wood put all their effort into documenting, organizing and reconstruct a collage of textual testimonies, reports and interviews with eyewitnesses to the Syrian revolution. The interviews were conducted by Laffery in collaboration with veteran war correspondents: Sherlock and Bois. The play begins with the recitation of a poem titled: “Another Martyr Rises” by Omar Al Khani, Secretary General of the Union of Coordinators of the Syrian Revolution. This is followed by information on the cast and projects of Finborough Theater as well as the actors' CVs and their roles in the play. The play is divided into two acts: Act I from page 25-53; Act II dates from 54-85. There are 21 scenes...... middle of paper ......
