    Successful organizations have strong leaders and managers who develop, support and encourage employee longevity within a company. There is a significant difference between leadership and management, but both skills must be used collectively and both are important for a profitable organization. Leadership is about communicating the vision of an organization, while management is more about implementing the vision of the organization. The manager usually fulfills the responsibilities set by the organization and has a good team to carry out tasks and achieve goals. Most companies have a mission statement that reflects and supports their vision. When referring to leadership and management, the two are closely related, but both mean and carry different tasks and responsibilities. Leadership: A leader is a person who guides or inspires others within an organization or community to achieve a goal. Leadership relies primarily on less tangible elements like confidence, inspiration, attitude, decision-making, and personal character (Chapman). A good leader takes on all responsibilities for their team by integrating their experience and skills and developing through coaching, facilitation and creating environments that support the direction of the organization. Leaders are role models who lead by example and realize that they may need to put their own feelings aside to make a decision that is beneficial to the organization and its team. Leadership is the ability to remove institutional barriers and empower employees.
