Los Angeles County has something for everyone. From its derivative history to its plethora of entertainment options, it's one of Southern California's best-known counties. According to HighBeam Research, “Los Angeles County is the nation’s largest manufacturing hub” (HighBeam Research, LLC.). Los Angeles County and the City of Los Angeles are often confused, however, the City of Los Angeles is part of Los Angeles County. Los Angeles is moving forward every minute, which is why it is the most populous county in the United States. The county seat of Los Angeles County is the city of Los Angeles, which is also the largest city in California and the second largest city in the United States behind New York (HighBeam Research, LLC.). Los Angeles County in Southern California features a rich history, stable government, and large cities with a wide variety of entertainment options. This story of Los Angeles County is very significant. It is studied that the rock formation of what is now Los Angeles was created approximately 1.7 billion years ago (Los Angeles Almanac). Native Americans lived in Los Angeles for a few thousand years, then Europeans arrived. Some of the Los Angeles explorers were Juan Cabrillo, Sebastian Vizcaino and Gasper de Portola (LA Tourism & Convention Board). Europeans arrived around 1540 and colonized the area for the Spanish. The Spanish Empire built numerous ranches and missions throughout Southern California. At the time in Los Angeles, “the Spanish period was dominated by vast Ranchos, the result of land grants.” The Spanish also built the Los Angeles River which runs through today's Los Angeles County (Steen, Francis F.). One of the many historical figures who impacted Los Angeles during this era was Felipe De Neve. Los Angeles attracts people from all over the world, which makes it so popular. Its rich history will always be remembered. County government that will always be known positively. The beautiful towns that make up Angel County will never be forgotten. The diversity that people love will continue to grow. Los Angeles may have its downsides, but for the most part it is such a unique and exquisite county that Southern Californians will love forever. This is a large part of the state and has made the state of California one of the most populous states in the country. Without Los Angeles in the United States, the country would probably be a somewhat boring place. It's such a blessing to live in such a place.
