Our society today does not value our mental health as it should. If society paid as much attention to mental health, it would be better off in the long run. Think of an athlete playing a sport, they certainly understand how important physical health is. When a baseball player injures his knee, he goes out and waits for his knee to heal. But like many people, mental health is neglected. Most teens don't realize that many factors like stress or eating disorders come from a poor mental state. They think that if they ignore it they will get away with it, this is not true and many times this kind of thinking will only make things worse (Change your mind). Mental health is not considered as important as physical health due to misconceptions and stigma against patients with mental health conditions. By increasing the importance of personal mental health, people can reduce the problems associated with mental health problems and raise awareness among people who suffer from mental health problems. There is a difference between feeling depressed for a while and having a mental health problem like depression. But it becomes a problem when people start to ignore their feelings and think less about themselves. The Rode Island Physiological Association found that people whose mental health problem was resolved decreased their medical visits by 90%, their overall laboratory costs decreased by about 50%, and their overall treatment costs decreased by 30%. %.
