In the plays, the main argument used was that people didn't like the use of certain words, which caused few writers to feel offended. By simplifying meanings or limiting words to have a specific meaning, the English language would be more easily accepted by people belonging to different aspects of the language. Sometimes the confusion begins when the use of a common word is given a new definition.
