David Wheeler (2010) sums it up perfectly when he says, “Servant evangelism involves intentionally sharing Christ by putting love into action” (p. 151). This method of evangelism means meeting people where they are in life, breaking down any barriers that might separate them, and telling them about the love of Jesus through your actions. Benefits of Using This Method Servant evangelism opens doors for a person to be able to share the good news of the Gospel. When a person goes above and beyond someone else's expectations, it often sparks curiosity about their reasoning. This opens the door to explaining that their reasoning is Jesus, and then deepening his love for people (Wheeler, 2010, p. 151). Servant evangelism can also be less intimidating to new believers trying to share their faith. This allows people to connect with others and then share the gospel. It also allows Christians to focus on their own hearts. Servant evangelism requires humility toward oneself, which is a good practice for Christians to practice every day.
