Essay / Outsiders: A Feel Good Movie - 539
The Outsiders is a perfect example of what a “feel good” movie should be. A group of poor and abused teenagers learn to cherish each other and love life by overcoming challenges that not all teenagers go through. It's so heartbreaking and viewers really got the essence of what it means to have a real family, even though it might not be the kind you see in TV commercials. The film really does a great job of bringing each character's personality to life through actions and events that are very cool to see. I think Francis Ford Coppola does a fantastic job with the costumes, sets and props in which he really had to make this time period very old fashioned. The makeup was truly amazing; there were constant fights between the greasers and the socs, not to mention the church fire where Johnny was badly burned. However, critics are known to have mixed reviews of this type of film, as it mirrors the events of the novel it is based on. Some say the movie is better and others say the book, but regardless, audiences are not disappointed with ISIS....
