The Green Revolution: Weighing Both SidesSince the dawn of time, agriculture has been one of the most important foundations of a civilization. The success or failure of a certain community depended largely on the food supply which depended on agriculture. In fact, certain civilizations were distinguished by the agricultural methods used. Agriculture provides a way to feed the masses. Due to the problem of hunger in various parts of the world, Norman Borlaug, an American agricultural scientist, began developing high-yielding, disease-resistant wheat in Mexico in the 1940s. This led to this which we today call the Green Revolution. The Green Revolution refers to an agricultural renovation that involves research and practices using modified crops, proper irrigation, and modern agricultural technology. Thanks to the Green Revolution, agricultural production increased massively all over the world. Despite the success of the Green Revolution, some still question whether it is really good or not.
