Some girls, when they are little, want to be a princess or have other fantasy dreams that will probably never come true; however, ever since I was little, I knew I was different. I had a burning passion for animals and always wanted to become a veterinarian. Some people told me that I couldn't do it because the field is very competitive, but I stuck to my ambitions and even now I pursue them. This is a challenge that I will overcome if I take steps, slowly but surely, towards my goal. I even know that I am taking steps and planning the steps that I will take to achieve my goal and the steps that I plan to take in order to stand out as a candidate when I apply to veterinary school is to gain a hands-on experience with animals in different ways, gaining experience working directly with a veterinarian and getting involved in my community.
