Essay / Adoption of Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Regulations and ImplementationsIntroductionAdoption of Electronic Health Record (EHR) is a smart and promising program for the healthcare delivery system, which benefits healthcare providers, hospitals, and consumers/patients. Subsequently, the federal government is proposing an EHR incentive program or commonly known as meaningful use in healthcare to accelerate implementation. A key element of Meaningful Use standards is system interoperability in which the exchange and use of information can be used to improve the quality of care. Additionally, EHR increases reporting efficiency, accelerates report retrieval to avoid order redundancy, and improves decision-making through immediate results and information availability. On the other hand, patients still question one aspect of EHR and healthcare modernization regarding the privacy and security of personal information. As a result, a large number of patients fear sharing their important information due to the unmanageable risks of privacy and security violations. As a result, the federal government has made health information exchange (HIE) a national priority. There are various government procedures... middle of document ......d that will address several issues, thereby encouraging various legislators to create federal and state laws that will address the program's compliance deficiencies.ConclusionIn conclusion, l Nationwide EHR adoption isn't perfect yet, but it's getting better. In addition to the incentive programs provided by the HITECH Act, the organization would need to acquire additional funds from other grants. Acquiring change-resilient software and hardware that can handle frequent upgrades in terms of functionality, safety, and security is an advantage in maintaining a functional EHR. Finally, interoperability is considered the pillar of the EHR system. Therefore, a system that will provide a safe and secure environment during the transmission of PHI is essential to improve the safety, efficiency and increased productivity of patient care..
