Lewis Carroll lived a disciplined and diligent life and achieved many distinctions in many academic fields. His ability to achieve this was due to the support of his family and the times in which he lived. These factors composed his disposition, which resonated in all his literary works. On January 27, 1832, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson was born in Daresbury, Cheshire. , England. In 1943 his family moved to Croft Rectory in Richmondshire, North Yorkshire, while he was enrolled at Richmond Public School. Three years later, at the age of fourteen in 1846, he entered Warwickshire Rugby School. He spent three years at Warwickshire School, leaving in 1849. He later went to Oxford in 1851 and graduated with first class honors in mathematics and a second class in classics in 1854. Several years later, in 1857 he graduated with a master's degree finishing his studies at Oxford. The year 1856 marked the advent of the use of "Lewis Carroll", an anglicized pseudonym, which he adopted to publish all his literary works. Like his father's professional career, he obtained the post of professor of mathematics at Oxford, which he retained from 1856 to 1881. In 1861, he received holy orders, becoming a deacon at Christ Church Cathedral, but he did not could be ordained a priest because of his lack of interest in the ministry. In 1865, he published the novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, his most famous literary work that is still talked about today. Four years later he published Phantasmagoria, a ten-year-old collection of poems, and seven years later, The Hunting of the Snark.
