    Looking at his most recent mugshot, no one would guess that Warren Jeffs was once a prophet and leader of a church with nearly ten thousand members; Without Warren's dark brown hair and the suits he usually wore, Warren could be presented as any other hardened criminal. Despite the drastic change in his appearance, it is assumed that the convicted sexual predator still manages to maintain control over his people. While followers of the FLDS Church believe that Warren is the one and only spokesperson for God today; Jehovah's Witnesses, on the other hand, have a seven-man board of directors who govern their denomination. The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society is "the oldest and largest of the societies of Jehovah's Witnesses" and the Society's president was formerly a member of the board of directors. However, in October 2000, current president Don Alden Adams resigned from the board to assume a purely administrative role that has no influence on doctrine. (WatchTower.org) Adams is considered a 50-year veteran of Jehovah's Witnesses, and like Warren, Adams grew up with his current religion. (Ostling) Don and Warren look slightly similar with their long faces, prominent noses, and thin-rimmed glasses, but without their shared belief in a god, their appearance is the extent of their resemblance. Just as the FLDS Church and Jehovah's Witnesses both share a belief in a higher power, they differ greatly in origin, doctrine, and practices. By comparing these faiths, we will understand why one is more popular than the other. The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly known as the FLDS Church, was officially established in 1990 by Warren Jeffs.
