  • Essay / my hero - 723

Everyone has some sort of person they admire. Usually it's someone they know, like their mom or dad. In other cases, it's an invented superhero, an authority figure, and sometimes even a celebrity. Why do people choose them to be their hero? Probably because they possess certain qualities that define the definition of a hero in society. Younger people admire firefighters and superheroes, but why? What really is the definition of a hero? In the essay “All Hands on Deck: How Can We Create More Heroes?” » Erin Anderssen says that heroes are the exceptions of humanity. That's one thing I can agree on. From my perspective, being a hero isn't just about having abnormal superpowers to use against villains. Being a hero means doing anything and everything you can, whenever possible, to benefit someone other than yourself. When I think of a hero, I visualize someone who is able to respect themselves and others, encourage others to live their lives to the fullest, and positively influence the lives of others. A hero must always show respect for himself and others. the people around them. This is a quality that Beyoncé undoubtedly possesses. Like all other superstars, Beyoncé is very often criticized. The only difference is that she's not the type to react negatively to any of this. It is very rare to hear about or see Beyoncé portrayed tactlessly in erroneous media reports. Of course, let's also not forget how she let Taylor Swift deliver her speech at the 2009 VMAs; right after being interrupted and humiliated by rap sensation Kanye West. Plus, the fact that Beyonce even publicly apologized to Taylor for something she had nothing to do with is pretty astounding. If this is not an example of absolute respect... middle of paper ... me as a hero for me because it all depends on if and how they use these qualities. I see heroes every day of my life. From firefighters to celebrities to everyday people who want to help someone because they care. In Erin Anderssen’s essay “All Hands On Deck: How Can We Make More Heroes?” Frank Farley said that "sacrificing one's life for someone else, especially a stranger, remains one of the deepest mysteries of human behavior." This statement could not have been worded better. They put a stranger's life before their own, something few people would do. Like I said earlier, being a hero means doing anything and everything you can, whenever possible, for the benefit of someone else. Whether it's giving someone advice or helping an old lady cross the street. They did something that had a positive impact on someone else's well-being. This is a true act of heroism.
