Essay / Ruby Redfort by Lauren Child - 2114
Do you love a good mystery? Ruby Redfort is a very interesting book, very intriguing, and about mystery. This is a wonderful book, written by Lauren Child. It has great characters and I really enjoyed reading it. Ruby Redfort is the main character of the book. She likes to have a little fun and always break the rules. Ruby also has a weakness for code decryption. She was a newly recruited agent within the top secret Spectrum network. She started out as a normal 13-year-old schoolgirl, then her world turned upside down. Even though she messes things up sometimes, I think she did the right thing when she goes on an adventure. She really should have hired a Spectrum agent to do this. I think she did the right thing because she knew exactly what she was looking for, she would be disguised as a child and she followed in the former agent's footsteps in her work. Ruby is very different from me, but I have to say that I agree with her in situations where she has to fight for herself. This is what I would do in this situation. There are quite a few other characters in the book. The most important by far would be Clancy. He is Ruby's best friend. He also loves to code. Ruby and Clancy even have their own code. Clancy is a little shy, but he is a great friend of Ruby's. Another important character would have to be Hitch. He himself is a secret agent at Spectrum and was given the position of "spy butler", while he was injured, to take care of Ruby. Ruby and Hitch have become good friends and work very well together. Here are some of the other characters:Mr. Redfort: Ruby's fatherMrs. Redfort: Ruby's momMrs. Digby: the Redfort family's maid for yearsBug: the Redfort family dogConsuela: the Redfort family's cookLB: Boss...... middle of paper ......the maze, she gets caught.Chapter 40: Hitch decided to go down to the basement. He finds his way to Ruby, but remains in the dark. After Hitch was seen, there was a lot of talking. Eventually, Hitch and Ruby convince them. All the bad guys were caught except one, the leader. Ruby then goes out to greet her family and friends. THE END What I liked about the book was the mystery. I loved not knowing what was going to happen next and having to figure out the story. It was very unpredictable, although it did get confusing at times. I could defiantly imagine myself in the book. Many different mysteries were solved, which made the ending very dramatic. It was great, I couldn't stop reading! The book was great, even though I don't usually read those kinds of books. It was very interesting and I really enjoyed it. The author did an excellent job.
