Essay / Utilitarianism, Kantianism, theory of divine command,...
The utilitarian vision would evaluate which choice provides the most pleasure to the pregnant woman. The woman needs to think about how she feels about pursuing a career in law and whether she might wait until she has another child. The theory of utilitarianism says that if the pregnant woman experiences more pleasure from an abortion, then the abortion is morally right in her case. With the slight doubt of becoming a mother and the idea of abortion in mind, she already shows that she places a very high value on her career. Since the woman knows she may try for another child later, she feels she is not ready to become a mother at that time. Based on utilitarian theory, the pregnant woman would choose to abort and pursue her promising law.
