Most of these buzzes are the sound of people updating their status on Facebook or other social media sites. I think companies need to have stricter policies around cell phone use. Distractions caused by all the gadgets can slow down worker productivity. Many people say they can multitask, that is, do two or more things at the same time. However, these people do not realize that they are working on company time. I feel that if it is not a work-related phone call or a family emergency, the employee has no right to pick up the phone. Many people take unnecessary breaks from work simply because they want to check on their phone who is in the game or what they are having for dinner. Most of these people don't realize that the time they spend on these breaks can be used for more productivity. This topic cannot be easily put aside as there are many reasons why cell phones and laptops should be allowed while working.
