Teachers must confront the biases that influence their value systems by examining their attitudes and beliefs toward cultural diversity (Villegas and Lucas, 2002) , to gain the respect and trust of students. Although the Australian Curriculum (AC) recognizes diversity and equality in schools, teachers need to design strategies on how to include these expectations in the curriculum.
