    A child with little hope is finally offered a better future by obtaining an extraordinary opportunity, simply by being adopted by a caring and loving family, even across borders. Foreign adoption is one of the possible ways to open that door to a wonderful life full of opportunities. These unhappy children can move from an unstable environment to a stable environment. Alas, there is much more to such a miracle than meets the eye, given all the complications and challenges that come with it. Although, with all the difficulties, most people say it's worth it. What is foreign adoption? Overseas adoption is a foreign adoption and is also known as intercountry or international (US) adoption. This is often an option if the child cannot be cared for in a safe environment in their home country and it is in their best interests (Crown). Although this is not always the case, some children are unhappy and fall into “child laundering”. Child laundering is the kidnapping of children, who are then sold to individuals or orphanages (Sexton). This is where international adoption becomes a controversial topic. Certain conditions must be met for an adoption to take place. Each country has its own rules and regulations regarding adoption and can pose certain difficulties. Some countries view adoption more as a form of guardianship under U.S. law, but this is not recognized as adoption in the United States (Bureau). International adoption is recognized as the adoption of a child from another country other than one's own by permanent legal means or the act of bringing a child to the adopter's own country, in which he or she resides, to live with him permanently (Office).
