Society can be very cruel; hopes and dreams can come true or disappear into the shuddering winds. It is important to remain hopeful when life is falling apart around you and freedom is what humans yearn for in order to do whatever they please during their existence on earth. Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King, is a clear example of freedom combined with hope, exemplified by the characters Andy Dufresne and Red. Andy, like Red, never loses hope of getting out of prison; furthermore, they gain a sense of freedom by leaving Shawshank. Having beliefs, in addition to fighting for what you believe to be right, are virtues that help you fight for success which ultimately allows you to achieve freedom and hope. Freedom is very important in Stephen King's novel, "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption." Andy is a clear example of what the author thinks about freedom as well as what freedom means to him. “I asked him one day what the posters meant to him, and he gave me a strange, surprised look. “Well, they mean the same thing to me as they do to most scammers, I suppose,” he says. 'Freedom. You look at these beautiful women and you feel like you could almost… not quite, but almost walk through it and be right there with them. » (King 1982: 32). The posters inspire freedom in Andy, allowing him to feel free of imagination, but also to feel as if he is represented in the posters. Andy also feels the same way about freedom, while presenting an attitude as if he is a free man. “Andy Dufresne didn't look much like me or anyone else I've known since I arrived. He brought home five hundred dollars stuck on his back porch, but somehow the gray meat son of a bitch managed to bring in something else as well. A feeling...... middle of paper...... result. Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King is a clear example of freedom and hope exemplified by the characters Andy Dufresne and Red. Hope will give you the determination to believe in what was once unimaginable. Freedom is the cause of your hopes and dreams in life when you fight for those dreams. No matter what life throws at you, even if you are in prison, unemployed, sick, etc. ; the hope of getting out of prison or finding a job, but also of fighting against illness; gives you a stronger reason to hope for the best in your life. Freedom is the ultimate achievement of success, resulting in the negation of those who try to harm you and dash your hopes. When you hope for something as deeply as possible, the outcome will be what you hoped for. Freedom will come as a result of your hopes and will give you the feeling of liberation.
