  • Essay / Heaven: Personal Perception on Religion - 1582

Religion has become part of a lifestyle to fill the void we have as humans, although it is much more than that. Even though we don't believe in any religion, we know that there is something bigger than us, it could be science, a plant or even an animal that we might consider a higher power. Sometimes it can't be explained in words, because it's like air that we can smell and know is there, but we can't see it. Every opinion or fact always creates a belief and controversy. The fact that religion is so important to society has created different opinions about it and disagreements. There are many types of religions all over the world and each has different beliefs and views life differently. Religion involves different elements such as rituals, traditions and interpretation of the Bible. However, there are external elements which, although involved in religion, are not really perceived by society as such. Some examples are the resurrection of Christ, better known as Easter, or the birth of Jesus, better known as Christmas. These two traditions are surely important parts of some religions, but are not celebrated or interpreted by some people as they should be. Easter and Christmas are celebrated primarily by everyone, however, most people do not consider them religious tenets of faith. Instead, some people prefer to celebrate Easter in the form of an egg hunt for children, and Christmas in the form of Santa Claus bringing gifts to those who behave well. Some people attribute these false traditions to commercialism, but society has decided to view them differently and not involve them in religion. Heaven and hell are also generalizations that some people make about the afterlife, regardless of their beliefs or religious preferences. Heavy...... middle of paper......because it is an independent concept. Heaven is our own perception of what we imagine based on our religious beliefs and our beliefs in life. Each perception of the sky is based on our physiological and spiritual emotions. No one really knows what will happen after death, we can only guess and have faith. Despite our beliefs in science, religion or heaven, I believe that every human being should live a moral life with good ethics, because even if there is no heaven, we will always rest in peace if our lives were good examples for others.
