  • Essay / Should evolution be taught as part of evolution in school

Science: the concerted human effort to understand, or better understand, the history of the natural world and how it works, with observable physical evidence as the basis for this understanding. Science is not just a word, it is truly a beautiful universe of different theories and studies, all brought up by normal people. Throughout all of humanity's discoveries, we encounter many theories, such as the theory of plate tectonics or the theory of the heliocentric model. A theory is a group of ideas intended to explain a certain subject, such as a single or set of facts, events, or phenomena. Technically, a theory can never be proven, although many claim that most theories are entirely true, such as that of evolution. But evolution is a totally different subject when it comes to school. Many defenders of evolution say it should not be taught in schools for reasons such as that it is a religion or that it teaches against religion. The truth is, evolution is a scientific theory, just like many students learn about it every day. Why should a student be able to learn how the Earth revolves around the sun, but not how human life has evolved over time? These are two theories, so there would be no reason to separate them. Second, religion should not be taught in schools, due to the separation of church and state mandated by the United States Constitution. Therefore, denying a child the theory of evolution because it goes against religious beliefs would be in the hands of the child's parents. Accepting the origin of man, whatever his beliefs, is not always easy. However, respecting the life you live should be easier than it is. Evolution allows people to respect life with ease in many cases. Teaching evolution gives...... middle of paper ......inheritor of history. No god has ever been proven. There is no concrete evidence for the existence of gods, although many may strongly disagree. Many of the world's popular religions have been imposed on people for many years. At the same time, these world religions have built the lives we have today, each helping us in their own way. In Europe, Catholicism was for a time the dominant religion. They created many laws and practices that are still used today. In China, Buddhism was the most popular religion, just as Catholics passed down many practices, Buddhists did the same. Most people rely on their religious belief for luck, happiness, and many other things. So, religion is extremely important in any scenario.
