    In today's society, all teenagers communicate and find out the latest gossip that is trending through social media. Since the introduction of the Internet, people have always tried to find a way to communicate with people around the world. Today, people connect through Facebook and Twitter. There are a plethora of negative causes of social media on the lives of young people: cyberbullying, addiction and not knowing the confidentiality conditions. Cyberbullying is a new type of bullying; This is when someone harasses another person via the Internet and verbally abuses them. Cyberbullying Causes Suicides “Cyberbullying has also been the cause of many youth suicides” (Barnes and Laird). Teenagers don't realize they are being cyberbullied, they may act like they are having fun and take it as a joke, but they don't think about the victim and what is going through their minds. The victim may take things seriously. and hurt themselves, especially if they are harassed or criticized by someone well known at school. There are many cases of teenagers committing suicide because they were being harassed on social media. Additionally, cyberbullying causes depression in young adults, Kowalski explains: “…cyberbullying is also a problem and can leave victims suffering from depression…” (Barnes and Laird). Victims feel like they are not good enough and become depressed about themselves because of the constant harassment they experience. Second, many teens are not aware or alerted to the fact that they might have a social media addiction.
