“Look at me,” said Joseph Philippe Pierre Yves Elliott Trudeau in 1970. He sincerely meant it while he fought for Quebec to remain a part of Canada. Not only did he do this, but he managed to be prime minister for 16 years, as well as being Canada's youngest leader at the time. It brought greater civil rights to Canadians, primarily Quebec citizens. His charismatic personality matched his innovative ideas, which improved Canada. Throughout his political career, not only Canada watched him, but the entire world watched him change the country for the better. He brought radical change to Canada by championing the idea of officially implementing bilingualism. Trudeau has been a pioneer since his election. Trudeau was born on October 18, 1919 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
