Essay / uh, I signed up for sociology, without having the slightest idea what it was. I thought it would be interesting since I had been told that you learn interesting things at university. However, aside from this general advice, I walked into a class without even knowing such simple facts as the definition of sociology. I didn't know, I didn't have to worry. The first morning of class, I was sitting at the front, with my notebook and pencil within reach. Maggie Hunter entered the room and it was obvious that she was excited to teach and also open to learning from us. His verbal language and his physical language were the two things that stood out to me the most because they conveyed a message of commitment and openness. Immediately, thanks to the energy she brought to the learning space, I wanted to learn as much sociology as the course could provide me. Enter a classroom in which the student can be inspired through the enthusiasm and knowledge of a teacher. of their subject is an astonishing and unique experience. This desire to learn and delve deeper into a subject is the result of the contribution of both the teacher and the student. However, the teacher (just like a parent) sets the tone for the interaction. As students get older, they are expected to play a greater role in their education and must strive harder to satisfy their desire for knowledge. However, when children are younger, the teacher has a huge impact on their outlook on learning and, if the student is lucky, will inspire a sense of curiosity in the student. Additionally, teachers are tasked with imparting knowledge to minds of all ages. Teachers and students have the opportunity to form close bonds based on...... middle of paper ...... public school and the teacher who teaches in a private school may have barriers or challenges different goals and, yet, they still have the potential to influence or change a student based on the relationships they have. These relationships are important for both the teacher and the student, because the level of openness and understanding opens the way to new knowledge and ideas. Being open as a human is not always easy and when not talking about the Transcendentalists, being open can often be looked down upon or seen as too "crazy." However, in education, being open to the other and both the teacher and the student recognizing that they have the capacity to learn a lot makes the learning process more successful and powerful. Being a student assigned by a teacher is unforgettable. Being a teacher who affects a student is also unforgettable.
