Over time, there has been a great debate over whether college athletes should be paid as if they were professionals. College athletes are trying to become professional, so they are not professional and should not be paid because they have not yet reached the major leagues. It's called college athletics because they're still students. Since they are students, they should not be paid to play. College athletes should not be paid to play while in school. Their dream college offers them a fully paid scholarship for the sport they love to play. They shouldn't be paid more because everything related to school is already paid for. Many students and athletes earn a full scholarship to a college of their choice. They benefit from free travel and equipment. They receive free coaching and mentoring. They benefit from academic support. They use university as a platform to improve their professional career chances. Sometimes they just get carried away with what they aren't getting and forget everything they are doing. (thecollegelanur.com)Colleges can vary in all sizes. Some may be large and full of students, while other colleges may be small and have a small number of students. Larger schools might have an advantage over smaller schools. Bigger schools will be more competitive and get more money for better players. Unlike the middle of paper...not the professionals. That said, they shouldn't be paid to play. College has an educational purpose and should not be exploited for payment.
