I would like to reflect on the demonstration of the first group (A poem: The Mother) from two angles: the use of pedagogical strategies and literary criticism. high effectiveness of the lesson. Regarding vocabulary teaching, they used visual aids, such as pictures and photos, to present the meaning of words. As Chanier and Selva (1998) argue, visual representations are remarkably effective in teaching concrete vocabulary, because visual aids can connect words to students' cognitive construction, to help them understand and remember words. Since most of the new vocabulary items in the poem are concrete topics, it is best to teach these words using pictures. However, as the expected learning outcome of the lesson was not clearly demonstrated in the presentation, I am not sure if mastering these vocabulary items is part of the lesson objectives or not.
