    Change is inevitable in any institution today due to the ever-changing environment in which institutions operate. Schools, businesses and other institutions have undergone significant changes in recent years in order to adapt to the prevailing changing environment. The change is very important, but it must be done very carefully to avoid causing undesirable consequences. This article focuses on one of the recent regulatory changes adopted by the NCAA. The NCAA has adopted a number of changes in recent years. One such change that was approved was modifying its rules to give conferences the authority to add more money to the scholarship offering, giving schools the ability to offer scholarships over multiple years, introducing stricter measures on recruits and also making a change to the summer recruiting model (Associated Press, 2011). This is a very important measure that aims to resolve or end the long debate over whether students can offer more than tuition, room and board, fees and books . One of the main elements of this regulation is that conferences can decide to add $2,000 to the total cost of attendance. This meant that individuals would be better served and protected from bad money-grubbing activities. There have also been changes in school eligibility, for example, the eligibility requirements increased from 2.0 GPA to 2.3 for any freshman and to 2.5 for college transfers juniors. Thus, this was one of the many changes that were adopted by the NCAA in its attempts to reshape its image as it remained very poor. There are a number of reasons why this change was made.
