Essay / Analysis of the novel "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult
Nineteen Minutes is written by Jodi Picoult, it was a very down-to-earth book and it had a very good story. The main idea of the book was to tell the story of how a student named Peter would be bullied non-stop and harassed for the way he looked and the people he hung out with. And his peers or friends did nothing but stand there and watch/laugh. Bullying is very prevalent in schools today and parents don't realize it's happening. So I hope that parents will have a chance to read this book so that they can help their children in the future. Say no to plagiarism. Josie Cormier has been one of Peter's best friends since they were little, and she was his only friend until the day her mother (Alex) came to pick her up from Peter's house and she was walking down the stairs , she found her daughter holding a handgun. Peter's fathers are safe, and that's where it all ended. Josie never got to hang out with Peter again, but they still saw each other at school and talked sometimes. Josie had a boyfriend named Matt and they were deeply in love, but Matt was also the one who made Peter's life hell. Ever since they were little, Mat bullied this kid until he came home crying every day because he couldn't do it. I couldn't take it anymore or didn't know what else to do because he comes from an emotionally distant family and his parents are never around. He can't turn to the teachers because they told him to let go or just stay away from Matt. It wasn't until one day that Peter couldn't take it anymore and he broke down. He let all his anger out on the children who picked on him and bullied him throughout his life. Peter had been planning this for about a month and Matt finally crossed the line where Peter was done with it and he just wanted them to pay. It was a freezing winter morning when Patrick, the town's only sheriff, received a call on his radio saying there were shots fired at the school and he couldn't believe it. He flipped his car and drove his ass back to school where he sprinted inside because he didn't have time to sit outside while other people could be killed. He finally arrived at the school and burst through the front doors where there was blood splattered on the walls and there were dead students on the hallway floor. He and three other officers split up to search the entire school, listening for where the next gunshot would be. Keep in mind: this is just a sample. Patrick burst into the boys' locker room where Matt was lying dead in the corner of the locker room, shot twice and Josie was lying next to him, unconscious but still alive. He found Peter curled up in a ball with a gun stuck to his hand, his finger on the trigger. It was Peter who shot that day and no one expected it to be him, he killed 9 people that day, including a teacher, and he injured nineteen others. Peter was convicted of 9 murders and nineteen attempted murders and was sentenced to life in prison without bail. A year later, they.
