Essay / Is renewable energy an economically viable option for...
Is renewable energy an economically viable option for South Africa? South Africa primarily focuses on energy production and manufacturing from coal mining. Although this is very effective and has been used for a very long time. The problem is that fossil fuels are limited due to the time it takes to create them over millions of years and the levels of pressure that must be applied to form fossil fuels. The process in South Africa goes as follows: first deep mines are dug to reach and extract all the fossil fuels, which is very negative due to the high risk of injuries and deaths. One of the other downsides is also that it has a big impact on the environment with all the unwanted dust and soil containing toxic compounds because being so expensive to ship and transport to an area where you can dispose of it , it is expensive, which leads the mining sectors to dump it next to or near the mine. The fossil fuels are then shipped to the various power plants. They are then used to create heat to produce steam which then turns a turbine. After that, the ashes that remain are non-renewable and cannot be used in any way except when they have been "washed." Another negative is that the released carbon dioxide destroys one of our most important protective layers against the sun's rays. There is only a limited amount of fossil fuels. South Africa's economic situation is almost as bad as it has ever been, with the rand falling to R10.44 against the euro. This makes the pursuit of purely renewable energy very costly for the government, private sector and citizens of South Africa. As wind turbine prices surpass R1 million, renewable energy options in South Africa are slowing down. If the renewal...... middle of paper ...... the government can turn old power plants into places where you can start businesses and hostilities, this can help pay for new power plants renewable energy, which can lead to many things. more attention is devoted to the education of workers at the various power plants. If South Africa moved from old power stations to new ones, so many lives and businesses could be improved and controlled. I think the economic level of South Africa is now good enough to acquire all the technology and there would also be enough money for research to improve knowledge of renewable resources, which would make it a very good option for South Africa to obtain these new resources. I believe that if more money is spent on renewable energy, the economic value of South Africa will increase and grow with investors, which will lead to even more money being spent to find more options for it. future..
