Besides being distantly related to former Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams, he was an incredible poet. Eliot had emerged from his mother's womb writing on September 23, 1888 in the small town of St. Louis, Missouri (Murphy 3). His mother Charlotte influenced him because she “was a schoolteacher” and was always teaching students (Murphy 3).
