    Introduction: Much of the literature indicates that human capital is often an organization's most valuable asset. A clear trend is emerging: the rise of subcontracted work (Grant 2013). In an increasingly globalized economy, which is currently recovering from a serious crisis, organizations seek to minimize costs to maintain their competitiveness. The search for minimized costs has multiple facets. One option has been to change the demographics of the workforce from employee to entrepreneur. For many businesses, workers are a key component of continued success. This shift from the traditional employer/employee relationship to an employer/entrepreneur relationship could have broad implications for team dynamics and add a new dimension to old organizational motivation tactics. Therefore, it is important to examine both content theories and process theories as they relate to motivation and specifically how they apply to the emerging trend in the entrepreneurial workforce . Increasing Entrepreneurial Workforce: During the 1980s, several countries implemented labor market reforms. with the aim of reducing unemployment levels by deregulating employment and promoting the use of fixed-term contracts (Amuedo-Dorantes and Malo, 2008). These employment arrangements differed from traditional permanent work assignments because they offer limited benefits and eliminate termination costs. Contract employees are favorable from an organizational perspective because they can serve as a buffer to meet temporary changes in employment needs due to changes in demand for products or projects, or to fill vacant positions on an ongoing basis. temporary (Amuedo-Dorantes and Malo, 2008).
