Essay / A Career in Computer Science - 1042
IntroductionMy decision to apply to the doctoral program at the University of Texas at Dallas is driven by my desire to build a research career in the field of computer science. I am very interested in research into teaching and training via virtual reality systems. The reasons for my interest in this field are too numerous to express here. But, to name just a few: • The nature of computing; data structures, algorithms, the logic of a system, the art of creating a meaningful and useful system through a series of "on" and "off". • The life cycle of research in this area; identify gaps in current research, determine the right questions to ask, formulate a possible solution, develop and execute a study based on the solution to evaluate its effectiveness, and finally, win, lose, or draw, share with the academic community what my team and I learned. • How computer science can be both theoretical and practical, or both; Depending on the problem, computer science may simply be the science, or it may be a specific implementation designed to solve a singular problem. Over the past two years, my interest in systems research and development has grown exponentially through my involvement in several projects, including the undergraduate research projects listed below. In the doctoral program at UTD, I plan to specialize in intelligent systems. I would also like to deepen my understanding of higher level spatial geometry and differential geometry. My long-term goals include the development of several software systems for use in a wide range of university education and training environments. After my doctorate, I intend to find a position at a university or in a research laboratory.ProjectsUndergraduate research project - Using LEGOs to evaluate tra...... middle of the article . .....project with five team members, which included requirements gathering, specification creation, complete system design, complete coding, implementation and testing with validation and verification at every step.ConclusionGraduate studies will prepare me to a career that will allow me to contribute to the expansion of scientific understanding and broadly benefit society in many ways. Above all, I will continue to look for knowledge gaps and ask new questions. Stay up to date with current academic and professional research to help you find the best method to answer these questions. Publish concise and reliable results so that others can use the knowledge gained to advance their work. Additionally, I teach at a university where I can share the knowledge I have learned with new students every class period. Through teaching, I encourage students to research as my professors or I did..
